It all started when I won third prize in a drawing competition when I was in third grade. All my life I have been surrounded by color and lights and art. Born in Florida where the sun shines everyday, or else the newspaper is free, with a very flamboyant and artistic grandmother, a piano playing father, a cordon-bleu mother, and a ballerina sister. When I was twelve, I started voice lessons which I pursued for nine years and have sung ever since, in various choirs and theatres. My proudest moments were qualifying for my State Choir when I was 17, singing for the Princess of Thailand with the Bangkok Opera, for world peace after the 9/11 horrors, and being part of the Taipei Philharmonic Choir.
I was very inspired in Asia and hence started making jewelry. I spent hours in Taiwanese markets looking for trinkets that I could all to my creations. One thing led to another and seven years later I am still inspired by this artistic outlet. In Tunisia, I learned watercolour painting, while continuing song and jewelry.
I am forever marvelled by color combinations, be it in nature or man-made. Color feeds me, makes me tingle, and even makes my mouth water. One day, a lady doing my number-scope stopped and looked at me and said “All of your numbers point to art. Are you an artist?” Am I?
